YOUR DAILY GUIDE TO BECOMING INVINCIBLE

Here's how:

1. COLD SHOWERS:

Used for centuries by nobility, celebrities, sportsmen & women and medics to invigorate, treat ailments & injuries, speed recovery after training, build the immune system & constitution, improve circulation, relieve depression, improve skin texture and hair sheen, increase fertility in men, increase energy and reduce stress.

If you've spent most of your life taking hot showers, suddenly turning the dial in the opposite direction can be a big shock to the system, so I'd recommend STARTING with a warm shower and gradually decreasing the temperature of the water so your body can adjust. Try to remain under the cold flow for 2-3 minutes. You'll see and feel the results immediately and it will only get better as you continue. BEST TIME is in the morning and repeat on a daily basis.

Those with high blood pressure and heart disease should avoid it, everyone else, it's time to step out of your comfort zone!

2. PURE CELERY JUICE:

Every other day there seems to be a so-called new, revered superfood or juice from Africa or Amazonia appearing on our health-food store shelves, and many of which I do love, but PURE CELERY JUICE consists of every necessary vitamin, mineral and antioxidant known to man and it's benefits outweigh its highly revered, albeit lesser counterpart, green juice.

5. INTERMITTENT FASTING:

The new buzzwords on the block. We all know that eating less improves overall health and longevity. It's scientifically proven. The effects of short term fasting and autophagy are profound and will have the greatest impact on your dietary practice. Please be assured that I am not approaching this topic from a weight loss perspective, but weight loss will be a by product.

Fasting is nothing new, it's not a fad. It has been practised for centuries, but in 2016 the Nobel Prize in Medicine was awarded to a Japanese man by the name Yoshinori Ohsumi for his discoveries of the mechanisms behind autophagy, a cellular maintenance process stimulated by fasting, that is critical in DISEASE RESISTANCE, LONGEVITY and BODY & BRAIN VITALITY. A few benefits include improved brain health, slowing down markers of ageing, improved body composition, improved digestion, improved cardiovascular health, disease prevention and treatment, improved mental health and decreased inflammation.

One of the most popular IF protocols which I too have been following consistently for 6 months and intend on continuing, is restricting all food consumption into an 8 hour window each day (thus doing a 16 hour fast daily) So basically I stop eating at 8pm and resume eating the following day at noon. You can opt to implement this into your lifestyle as often as you like, everyday, several times a week, even once a week will boast benefits and it's surprisingly simple to follow. Speaking from a lifelong foodie. I never suffer hunger pangs.

Herbal tea and water can also be consumed during your fast.

6. BEAUTY SLEEP, THERE'S A REASON IT'S CALLED THAT!

Turn back the ageing clock (inside and out) by simply getting enough shut eye.

We never feel or look optimal after a sleepless night. Irritable, lacklustre, moody, brain fog, craving sweets and carbs leading to weight gain, is the result of a poor nights sleep. Long term, the effect is devastating.

A wondrous hormone called HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE is part of the human endocrine system and is released by the brain into the bloodstream during sleep and its release is part of the repair and restoration function of sleep.

How do I book my first class?

To get started all you need to do is take a few moments to sign up to create your online account. Once that’s all set up you’re ready to get booking your first METcore class! You can peruse our online schedule and book your classes up to 8-weeks in advance. Alternatively, you can always email us at hello@formstudios.co.uk or pop by to make your booking.

We offer classes from 06.30am to 8pm Monday - Friday and from 9am to 5pm Saturday - Sunday.

How fit do I need to be?

Our classes are small (just 8 per class) and suitable for all levels of fitness - our instructors are dedicated to working each and every one of our clients to their maximum and offer modifications wherever necessary, for clients who may be struggling or those who need a greater challenge.

How often should I come?

We suggest starting out with 2 classes a week and as your fitness levels increase, building this up to 3-4 times per week from there.

What do I need to wear?

We recommend sporting a tank or t-shirt on top and leggings or sweat pants on the bottom. Anything you can move comfortably (and get your sweat on) in!  No trainers required.  It’s bare feet or ToeSox - which we sell if you should need a pair.

What do I need to bring?

No need to bring anything but your “ready to workout” self!

We sell bottled water and cold pressed drinks for your refreshment during and after class. We also provide changing and shower facilities, with complimentary towels and products for you use.  * All clients are required to wear grippy/pilates socks and you will not be permitted to train without grippy/pilates socks - we sell a wide range of Tox Sox at the studio should you forget to bring a pair *  

When are your classes?

 What if I need to cancel my class ? 

Should you wish to cancel or reschedule your session please be aware that we operate a 24-hour cancelation policy. We are unable to reaccredit for class cancellations made inside 24-hours and this also applies to first class free credits.

Any tips for my first class?

You might like to have a light pre-workout snack around 30-40 minutes before your workout. Good light snack options - half a banana, a handful of almonds or a couple of apple wedges with almond butter.

We recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes before your first class so that we familiarise yourself with the studio and we can introduce you to the equipment before we get started.  

Be prepared to sweat and work out hard but do keep in mind that it’s your first class and it’s going to be particularly challenging as you and your body are new to this class. 

So go easy on yourself and don’t feel defeated.  It does get easier and you will get results - fast!

 

p.s -don't forget to bring grippy/pilates socks as you will not be permitted to train without them - we sell a wide range of Tox Sox at the studio should you forget to bring a pair with you.
